Dennis Price is a teacher, actor, improviser, and director originally from Blacksburg, Virginia. He has studied the art of improvisation at Chicago’s famed Improv Olympic (IO) Theater and The Second City. The Theater at Monmouth drew him to Maine and eventually, he moved here for good in 2002. In addition to spending 12 years with the Theater at Monmouth, Dennis has also worked at theaters in Lewiston (The Public), Bangor (Penobscot Theater Company), and Portland (The Children’s Theater of Maine). In 2006, he took over the drama program at Monmouth Academy. Two years later, he was hired to teach English at Monmouth Academy, where he helped build the drama program from a group of 10-11 to a group of 40-50 students. In 2015, Dennis was hired at Winthrop High School as a theater teacher and director of the Performing Arts Center, responsible for events and bookings at the space. In addition to his academic leadership, Dennis founded Capital City Improv in 2012. Capital City is a short-form improvisational company that performs in and around central Maine.
