Winthrop area boasts over
10 lakes and ponds and is ideally located about 1-l/2 hours
from the ocean, the mountains and Portland. This quiet residential
area, convenient to I-95, experiences a doubling of its
population during the summer months; and is a very welcoming
area providing a quality of life so difficult to find in
today's hurried world. Excellent theaters include our own
Performing Arts Center, Maine Music Theater and the Theatre
in Monmouth. Museums, hiking trails, varieties of fresh
and salt water activities, excellent colleges (Bates, Bowdoin,
Colby, State University), State Capitol, historic forts,
the tidal Kennebec River, and two excellent medical facilities
