Winthrop Lakes Region Chamber Offers Workshop on Business Entities Oct. 5th
What is the best way to form a company or charitable organization?
Attorney Michael Levey and CPA Ray Cook will speak about the pros and cons of various business and tax entities at the Winthrop Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce breakfast Thursday, Oct. 5.
Corporations, limited liability companies, and sole proprietorships all have their positives and negatives, explained Cook, who practices in Winthrop. Cook will share his advice on which is best from a tax perspective. Levey, who practiced many years with the law firm Levey, Wagley and Putman in Winthrop, will discuss the legal aspects involved in specific entities. Levey and Cook will also speak about why existing companies may want to change their entities.
